Michael Luis Hernandez Santana, professionally known as MH, is a Puerto Rican singer-songwriter born in Guayama, Puerto Rico, and raised in Arroyo, Puerto Rico. Blending cinematic Dark Pop with Latin influences, MH creates emotionally driven music that explores love, heartbreak, healing, self-discovery, and resilience. His mission is simple: to remind people that no matter how difficult life becomes, they are never alone.

Raised by his loving grandparents, MH grew up surrounded by faith, family, and music. Church played a central role in his childhood, where he discovered his passion for singing and performing. Although his early years were filled with love from his grandparents, they were also marked by family struggles that often made music his escape from reality.

Growing up as a gay young man in a religious community came with its own challenges. Throughout school, MH experienced bullying because he was different. Tired of hiding who he truly was, he made the courageous decision to openly tell his classmates that he liked boys. Instead of the rejection he feared, many accepted him for who he was and encouraged him to simply be himself. That defining moment shaped not only his confidence but also the honesty that now lives in every song he writes.

Music quickly became more than just a hobby—it became a lifeline. Whether singing in church, performing in school musicals, or creating homemade lip-sync music videos on his iPad inspired by Adele's Someone Like You, MH found every opportunity possible to express himself through music. Artists such as Adele, Evanescence, Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, and Riell helped shape his artistic vision, inspiring him to create music that tells honest stories while delivering cinematic, emotional experiences.

Although his original dream was to write songs for other artists, everything changed after releasing his own music. Seeing listeners connect with his lyrics made him realize that his own voice deserved to be heard. Like many independent artists, his journey wasn't easy. He encountered misleading promotional offers, fake industry opportunities, and harsh criticism from people who doubted his talent. Rather than allowing those moments to discourage him, they became the motivation that pushed him to improve, learn, and continue chasing his dream.

One of the most significant chapters of MH's life came shortly after high school. He experienced a relationship that deeply affected him emotionally. What he believed was love turned out to be one-sided, inspiring songs like "Veneno," where he explores the feeling of becoming consumed by someone who was never truly committed. Instead of allowing heartbreak to define him, that experience taught him the importance of self-worth, honesty, and knowing when to let go.

Not long afterward, friendship unexpectedly turned into love when he met the man who would become his husband. What began as two people simply supporting each other through life's challenges slowly grew into something much deeper. In October 2015, they became engaged, and today they have shared over twelve years together. Their relationship continues to remind MH that while toxic love may leave scars, genuine love still exists for those willing to believe in it.

Living in New York while proudly embracing his Puerto Rican heritage naturally shaped MH's songwriting. His music flows effortlessly between English and Spanish because that's how he experiences everyday life. That blend of languages allows him to connect with listeners from different cultures while remaining authentic to who he is.

Away from the stage, MH describes himself as an ordinary person who enjoys spending time with family and friends, relaxing at lakes and pools, and playing video games like Fortnite, Minecraft, and Subnautica. More than anything, he believes in helping others. He often worries more about the people around him than himself, always hoping to remind others that they don't have to face life's struggles alone.

His current era introduces a darker, more cinematic artistic direction built around immersive storytelling, striking visuals, and emotional vulnerability. Every song represents a chapter in a larger story, inviting listeners into moments of temptation, heartbreak, growth, and ultimately hope.

Looking toward the future, MH dreams of performing in stadiums, collaborating with artists like Ariana Grande, and one day earning a Grammy Award. However, success has never been measured solely by awards or chart positions. For MH, the greatest achievement is knowing that someone somewhere heard one of his songs at exactly the moment they needed it most.
